Inside Sales Representative

Heads Up is a locally owned lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal company here in Shakopee, serving the southwest Twin Cities metro. We've been at it since 2020, and people keep calling because word gets around when the work is done right (that's how we got to 4.9 stars on Google). More people calling means more quotes to send and more plans to set up, and that's where you come in. This is a phone-and-email sales job: you turn folks who asked for a quote into folks who become customers.

What you'll actually do

Most of your day is the phone and your inbox. Somebody fills out a form on our site or leaves a voicemail asking about mowing, a cleanup, mulch, a paver patio, new sod, or a snow plan. You follow up fast, figure out what they need, and either quote it, book an estimate for the crew, or close it right there.

• Call and email people back the same day they reach out, while they're still shopping.
• Ask good questions so you understand the yard and the job before you quote it.
• Send clean, accurate quotes and get seasonal estimates on the calendar for the field team.
• Close recurring plans (weekly mowing, seasonal snow) and explain the value in plain terms.
• Chase down the follow-ups nobody else has time for, so quotes don't go cold.
• Keep the notes and pipeline current so we always know who's waiting to hear back.

What we're looking for

You don't need a landscaping background. You do need to be comfortable on the phone, organized enough to juggle a lot of open quotes, and genuinely decent with people. If you like turning a maybe into a yes, this fits.

• You're easy to talk to and you listen before you pitch.
• You follow up without being told twice, and you don't let leads slip.
• You can write a clear, friendly email and keep your notes straight.
• You're comfortable talking about price and asking for the sale.
• Some sales or customer-service experience helps, but we'll train you on our services and how we quote.

Schedule & pay

This is a full-time role, weekdays, based here in the southwest metro. Our busy seasons are spring through fall for lawn and landscaping and the winter stretch for snow, so the phone stays warm most of the year.

Pay is an hourly base plus commission on the plans you close, so the more you sell the more you make. For this market we expect the base to land around $20–$26 an hour, plus commission that puts realistic total earnings in the neighborhood of $50,000–$70,000 a year once you're rolling. Those numbers are honest market ranges, not a promise; the owner will confirm the exact base and commission with you when we talk. You're paid weekly.
